The Feuling Parts Race Series® Lifters for Twin Cam 4050ST feature a revolutionary design with a total travel of only 0.115 inches, significantly less than traditional full travel lifters, which measure approximately 0.200 inches. This reduced travel increases engine RPM by decreasing valve float and harmonics in the valve train while maintaining a quiet engine operation. The compact travel also reduces the amount of oil needed to fill the lifter interior, minimizing oil aeration during high-speed, high-lift camshaft operation. Oil aeration inside the lifter can cause the pushrod seat to drop when rolling onto the cam lobe ramp, resulting in noisiness and performance issues; the shorter travel design helps prevent this issue for improved engine reliability and performance. These lifters are machined from high-quality steel and are engineered to handle large lift camshafts and high valve spring pressures with a slower bleed-down rate. They are compatible with Feuling® HP+® or Race Series® oil pumps, suitable for both street and strip applications, and designed to ensure proper oil flow to the engine's top end. The precision ground needle roller bearing with a high chromium steel axle provides long life and minimal friction, while the high-flow disc-style check valve offers rapid response at higher RPMs. Developed on the Spin-Tron dyno and proven on the track, these lifters are manufactured in the USA and are recommended to be pumped up by hand before installation using a thin-weight oil like ATF to remove air. For engines with valve spring seat pressures exceeding 185 pounds, Feuling® suggests using Race Series® lifters and a high-volume oil pump for optimal noise reduction and performance.
