The S&S CYCLE Super Stock® Generator Engine Case (Part No. 31-0008) is designed for classic Big Twin models from 1948 to 1964, offering precision-engineered components for optimal performance and longevity. Crafted in the USA, this engine case includes essential parts such as crankcase bolts, washers, nuts, cylinder mounting studs, and a timing hole plug, ensuring a comprehensive rebuild or upgrade. The case features a magnetic drain plug and assorted breather and oil line fittings, facilitating efficient oil management and ventilation, which are critical for maintaining engine health during high-performance riding or racing conditions. The top end oil screen spring and plug are included to enhance oil filtration and circulation, promoting engine durability. Its machined surfaces and line-honed bearing races ensure tight tolerances for smooth operation, with breather cavities precisely machined to optimize breather timing for maximum oil scavenging, reducing sludge buildup and extending engine life. The case is machined for 3.4375-inch cylinders and is tapped 1/4-inch-20 for gear covers, oil pump, tappet guides, timer, and timer advance, providing compatibility with various components. It is drilled for 5/16-inch generator mounting bolts, simplifying installation of electrical accessories. This case is designed to use Timken style sprocket shaft bearings and '58 and later pinion bearings, ensuring proper fitment for specific model years. For models with outside oil lines from 1963 to 1965, it requires an oil port at the rear of the tappet block or in the gear cover, along with custom oil lines for proper lubrication. The generator crankcase gear kit, included in the assembly, features a circuit breaker drive gear, idler gear, and circuit breaker gear; shims and shafts are sold separately. Additionally, this case is machined for '48-'62 panhead cylinder oil feed and is compatible with '55-'64 tin primary configurations, making it versatile for various rebuilds.
