The FEULING PARTS Cam Kit 487 is designed for high-performance Milwaukee Eight (M8) engines, offering a comprehensive upgrade for enthusiasts seeking increased power and responsiveness. This kit features a bolt-in, chain drive camshaft with a 38° overlap, optimized for engines ranging from 2,250 to 6,100 RPM. The camshaft is suitable for 114-inch and 117-inch engines and responds exceptionally well to increased bore sizes and compression ratios, providing improved bottom-end torque and a significant pull above 2,950 RPM compared to stock components. The cam specs are measured on the lifter at 0.050 lift with a 1.61 rocker arm ratio, ensuring precise performance tuning. Included in the kit are the necessary components such as a cam installation kit with cam bearings, hardware, gaskets, and O-rings, facilitating straightforward installation. The kit also supports the use of factory one-piece pushrods or optional Feuling® heavy-duty HP+® 0.165 wall pushrods, making it adaptable to various build configurations.
The Race Series lifters are hydraulic with a full 0.200-inch travel, engineered with a slower bleed-down rate to handle heavy valve spring pressures and prevent valve float at higher RPMs. These lifters feature increased roller clearance to accommodate steep ramped cam profiles and provide clearance for the Milwaukee Eight front exhaust camshaft lobe flange. Made in the USA, they are built for durability and high-performance applications. For optimal results, it is highly recommended to use heavy-duty, one-piece pushrods and a Feuling® fastener kit to prevent cylinder head cracking. Additionally, a high-flow exhaust system and air cleaner are suggested to maximize airflow and engine output.
High lift valve springs are required for stock cylinder heads, and while Screamin Eagle heads come equipped with high lift springs, verification may be necessary. Feuling® advises against tuning beyond stock emissions standards to ensure engine reliability and compliance.
