The S&S CYCLE 31-0010 engine case is designed specifically for vintage Big Twin models from 1965 to 1969, featuring a generator style configuration and stock bore dimensions. The sprocket shaft assembly utilizes Timken® bearings, with all bearing races line honed and the breather cavity precision machined to enhance breather timing for maximum oil scavenging, reducing oil loss and maintaining engine cleanliness. The case is machined for cylinders measuring 3.4375 inches and is tapped 1/4 inch-20 for gear covers, oil pump, tappet guides, and timing components, facilitating straightforward installation and compatibility with various accessories. Designed to accommodate '65 models with '65 alloy inner primary, it is drilled for 5/16 inch generator mounting bolts and includes provisions for the generator crankcase gear kit, which comprises the circuit breaker drive gear, idler gear, circuit breaker gear, and shims—note that shafts must be purchased separately. For models with outside oil lines manufactured between 1963 and 1965, the case requires the use of an oil port positioned at the rear of the tappet block or in the gear cover, along with custom oil lines.
