The Feuling Parts Race Series Oversized Lifters (Part 4051ST) are engineered to optimize high-performance engine operation with a revolutionary design that reduces total travel to 0.115 inches from the standard 0.200 inches. This reduced travel increases engine RPM by decreasing valve float and harmonics in the valve train, resulting in improved stability and more efficient power delivery. Crafted from machined steel, these lifters are built to withstand large lift camshafts and higher valve spring pressures, ensuring durability under demanding conditions.
They are compatible with Feuling HP+® or Race Series® oil pumps and are suitable for both street and strip applications. The design minimizes oil aeration inside the lifter, which is a common cause of noisy and inefficient lifters during high-speed operation. When oil aeration occurs, the pushrod seat drops, creating noise and reducing performance. The shorter travel design reduces oil filling requirements, leading to less aeration and more consistent operation. Proper installation involves setting pre-load within 0.065 to 0.070 inches, with engine heat causing the lifter pre-load to settle at approximately half travel for optimal performance.
Each lifter features a precision-ground needle roller bearing with a high chromium steel axle for long-lasting use and minimal friction. A high-flow disc-style quick-reacting check valve ensures better response at higher RPMs, and the design has been proven on the dyno and track for reliability and performance. To ensure full functionality, Feuling recommends manually pumping each lifter to remove air before installation, using a thin-weight oil such as ATF in a squirt can. For engines with valve spring pressures exceeding 185 pounds, Feuling advises using Race Series® lifters and a high-volume oil pump to maintain proper oil flow and achieve quieter, more efficient operation.
