The Feuling Parts Race Series Oversized M8 Lifters (Part Number 4019ST) are engineered to enhance high-performance engine operation. Featuring a revolutionary design, these lifters offer a total travel of just 0.115 inches, significantly less than conventional full-travel lifters that typically provide around 0.200 inches. This reduction in travel increases engine RPM by decreasing valve float and harmonics in the valve train, resulting in a more stable and responsive performance while maintaining a quiet operation. The reduced travel also minimizes oil requirements to fill the lifter, decreasing oil aeration which can cause noisy and inefficient lifter operation during high-speed, high-lift camshaft activity. Proper setup involves pre-loading the lifters with approximately 0.065 to 0.070 inches and accounting for thermal expansion during engine operation, aiming for a half-travel preload for optimal performance. Machined from durable steel, these lifters are designed to withstand large lift camshafts and higher valve spring pressures, with a slower bleed-down rate to ensure consistent performance under demanding conditions. They are compatible with Feuling® HP+® or Race Series® oil pumps and suitable for both street and strip engines. The precision ground needle roller bearing with a high chromium steel axle ensures long life and minimal friction, while the high-flow disc-style check valve provides quick reaction at higher RPMs. Developed on a Spin-Tron dyno and proven on track, these lifters are made in the USA and are recommended to be pumped prior to installation to remove air, using a thin oil like automatic transmission fluid (ATF) for best results. For engines running valve spring pressures above 185 pounds, Feuling® recommends using Race Series® lifters and a high-volume oil pump for quieter, more reliable operation.
