Upgrade heavy Harley-Davidson applications with S&S Cycle 330-0053 Easy Start 557 Chain Drive Camshafts. Designed for Twin Cam models from 2007 through 2017 and Dyna models from 2006, this camshaft system helps reduce the effort required to start an engine by temporarily lowering crank compression during initial cranking. It is especially suited for Tri-Glide models and other heavy motorcycles where easier starting can be beneficial.
Once the engine starts and rpm increases, the compression release lobe retracts centrifugally. The engine then operates with full compression for normal performance, without sacrificing power after startup. The bolt-in design is intended to simplify installation while providing a practical starting solution for compatible engines. These camshafts are engineered for use with chain-drive timing systems and are made in the USA by S&S Cycle.
The S&S Cycle 330-0053 kit includes the camshafts, gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread-locking compound, and installation instructions. Before installation, the installer must verify coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance to confirm proper component compatibility and operating clearance. This product is not intended for models equipped with original equipment manufacturer compression releases. Always compare the application requirements and follow the included instructions before completing installation.
