The S&S Cycle Easy Start 635 H.O. Gear Drive Camshaft (Part No. 330-0438) is engineered for modified Twin Cam engines from 1999 to 2006, excluding Dyna models from 2006. This high-lift camshaft facilitates an easy startup by initially reducing crank compression, allowing for smoother engine ignition. Once the engine reaches higher RPMs, the centrifugal retraction of the compression release lobes restores full compression, ensuring optimal engine performance without any power loss or compromise in efficiency. Designed for engines with 106 cubic inches or greater displacement and compression ratios between 10.0:1 and 11.0:1, this camshaft provides the best power output typically between 3,000 and 6,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-performance applications. The kit includes camshafts, a 4-gear set, gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread lock, and instructions for proper installation. Made in the USA, this camshaft is not a bolt-in component and requires additional modifications such as high-lift valve springs, adjustable pushrods, and clearance checks for optimal operation. Due to gear drive characteristics, some increased valve train noise may be observed. While it performs well with stock, un-ported heads, S&S CNC ported heads are recommended for maximum performance. Proper installation and tuning are critical to ensure durability and engine longevity, especially when combined with high-performance valve springs and other supporting components.
