The S&S Cycle Easy Start Camshaft Kit, part number 330-0459, is designed for Harley-Davidson Twin Cam engines from 1999 through 2006, excluding 2006 Dyna models. This MR103 chain-drive camshaft kit simplifies starting by initially reducing crank compression during engine cranking. As engine speed increases, the compression-release lobe retracts centrifugally, allowing the engine to operate with full compression and normal performance once running.
Designed as a bolt-in camshaft solution for 103 cu. in. engines with stock compression ratios from 9.7:1 up to 10.5:1, this kit delivers increased power throughout the operating range. It is especially effective between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm, making it suitable for street applications that require responsive acceleration and strong midrange performance. The camshafts work with stock, un-ported cylinder heads and are also well suited for use with S&S Cycle CNC-ported heads.
The kit includes camshafts, a gear-cover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, threadlocker, and installation instructions for a comprehensive installation package. Made in the USA, the S&S Cycle camshaft kit is engineered for reliable performance and convenient installation when matched to the specified engine configuration. Before installation, the installer must verify coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance to confirm proper application and safe operation. This kit is not intended for motorcycle models equipped with OEM compression releases.
