The S&S Cycle Easy Start Camshaft Set is designed to simplify starting on compatible Harley-Davidson Twin Cam engines while maintaining normal performance once the engine is running. Its centrifugal compression release lobe temporarily reduces cranking compression during startup, helping the engine turn over more easily. As engine speed increases, the compression release mechanism retracts automatically, allowing the camshaft to operate with full compression and without sacrificing performance.
This 625 chain-drive camshaft set is intended for 95-cubic-inch or larger engines with compression ratios from 10.0:1 to 10.75:1 and operating speeds between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm. It is compatible with Twin Cam applications from 1999 through 2006, except 2006 Dyna models. The set is engineered for riders and builders seeking dependable starting performance on higher-compression engines without using an external compression release system.
The S&S Cycle kit includes camshafts, a gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread locker, and installation instructions. High-lift valve springs and adjustable pushrods are required for installation. Before completing the installation, the installer must verify coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance to ensure proper engine operation. This product is not intended for models equipped with OEM compression releases. Made in the USA, the S&S Cycle Easy Start Camshaft Set provides a complete component solution for properly configured Twin Cam performance builds.
